Konka U6 Review- A Big Button Phone

Konka U6 Review- A Big Button Phone

Big button phones are basic phones that are popular among seniors and people that are not tech savvy due to the big numbers and large keypads they have that are easy to see and use. The Konka U6 is a big button phone with some decent features but it might not be the right phone for you. In this Konka U6 review I will talking about the Konka U6 and how it works so you can decide if it is the right phone for you or not.

What Is The Konka U6? Konka U6

The Konka U6 is a big button phone with a 2.31 inch display, a large and easy to use keypad and a good design. The phone is a basic phone but it has some good features and it works really well for day to day tasks. The Konka U6 is designed in a way that makes it easy to use for seniors which is done by the inclusion of the large keypad, decent size menu fonts and icons as well as the inclusion of other seniors features an accessories.

The Konka U6 has an emergency SOS button and a fall detector and it comes with a charging cradle to make charging it easy as well as a lanyard that works with the fall detector on the phone. These inclusions and accessories make the phone a good option for seniors. There are other options for seniors as well but this phone is quite decent and is definitely a lot better than I was expecting it to be when I purchased one.

The Konka U6 is a 3G phone meaning it only has support for 2G and 3G and you won’t be able to use it in countries that switch off 3G in the future. Once this happens you will no longer be able to use the phone and you will have to upgrade to a different phone that supports 4G or 5G. The Konka U6 is a decent phone with some good features that make it a good phone for seniors or as a secondary phone.

Daily Tasks On The Konka U6

Daily tasks on the Konka U6 are quite easy and you can do quite a few things on the phone. Call quality is good and calls are easy to make on the phone. Sending text messages is easy for the most part but it can be a bit slow and tedious due to it being a basic phone but the large keypad does help make it quicker and easier.

You can also browse the web on the phone using the web browser and it’s quite fast and it works fine. You can also use Facebook and Whatsapp as these two apps come preinstalled on the phone. The phone can be a bit slow at times when browsing the web or running apps but most of the time it is fast and works fine. There is also a pedometer on the phone that you can use to count your steps each day by carrying the phone with you.

Doing other tasks on the Konka U6 like using the clock, calculator, calendar and other things like this are all quick and easy to do. These features work fine and I have not had any issues while using them. As you can see daily tasks are quite easy on the phone and can be done quite quickly most of the time. Aside from it being a bit slow at times and typing being a bit tedious you shouldn’t have many issues doing tasks each day on the phone.

If the Konka U6 isn’t for you that’s ok as there are many other options. If you are looking for a good smartphone with great features consider the Opel Easy Smart 2. It is a great smartphone with a lot great seniors features and accessories. If you would like to know more about the Opel Easy Smart 2 I have a full review of the phone on this website.

Battery Life & Multimedia Konka U6 Box

Battery life on the Konka U6 is quite good and it will last the full day on one charge even with regular use. With heavy use the phone might run out of battery a bit quicker and could need charging by the end of the day. But other than that the battery is quite good. On standby mode the battery will last a few days if you don’t use the phone or charge it.

There is a camera on the Konka U6 and it takes decent photos especially for a basic phone. The camera is a decent quality that is not found on many basic phones. Although it’s not a phone I recommend you get if you are going to be taking a lot of photos and videos as you should get a phone with a camera that’s even better then the camera on the Konka U6.

Aside from the camera the phone also has an image gallery, music player, video player and an FM radio. For a basic phone I was surprised at the multimedia options on the phone as they are quite decent for a basic phone meaning the most common multimedia related tasks on possible on the phone. The Konka U6 has 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage that is expandable up to 32GB using a Micro SD card.

Internet & Connectivity

The Konka U6 has a web browser and can connect to the interest via WiFi and mobile data. You can browse the web which works fine using the built in web browser and you can use most websites without too much trouble. There is also two apps on the phone which are Facebook and Whatsapp that come preinstalled on the phone. You can use these apps any time you are connected to the internet.

But there are no other web related apps on the phone and there is no app store either meaning you can not download any other apps on the phone. This also means that you can’t check your email easily on the Konka U6 as their is no email app on the phone but you could do it through the web browser if you want to. Aside from web browsing the only web related tasks you can do on the phone is using Facebook and Whatsapp on the phone.

As for connectivity the Konka U6 has Bluetooth for transferring files between other Bluetooth devices and it works fine. But aside from Bluetooth the only other connectivity features are a flashlight, headphone jack and an FM radio. It’s a shame that there is not more connectivity features on the phone as the Konka U6 has some good features and has the potential to be an even better phone than it already is.

With the internet and connectivity features that are available on the phone you will be able to get basic web related tasks done each day without too much trouble. The internet and connectivity features all work fine and are quite good for a basic phone so you will have a few options available when it comes to internet and connectivity.

Price Of The Konka U6

The Konka U6 is a cheap and affordable phone. I got mine from eBay for around $50 to $60 but it could cost a bit more or a bit less depending on where you buy the phone and if it is on sale or not. It is available in some post offices and electrical stores as well as online on websites like eBay and Amazon.

Is The Konka U6 For Me?

I recommend the Konka U6 to seniors and anyone that is looking for a basic phone that has a large keypad and is easy to use. I also recommend the Konka U6 to anyone that doesn’t use their phone a lot and needs a phone for basic tasks like calls, text messages and basic web browsing.

I don’t recommend the Konka U6 to anyone that needs a basic phone with more features and anyone that needs a faster or more powerful phone. I also don’t recommend the Konka U6 to anyone that wants to be able to do more web related tasks on their phone other than basic web browsing and using Facebook and Whatsapp.
