iPhone SE Review

iPhone SE 1st Generation Review- Is It Worth It In 2023?

iPhones are a popular phone in the smartphone market but older models are not sold in stores anymore due to the latest iPhones becoming the popular iPhones everyone buys. But older models should still be appreciated and are still used today by many people including the iPhone SE 1st generation. In this iPhone SE 1st Generation Review I will talk about the phone so you can decide if it’s still worth it in 2023. iPhone SE

The iPhone SE was released in 2016 and new models have been released since then. But the iPhone SE 1st generation is still a good choice for a backup phone and can still be used as a main phone as well. It’s not the best option for everyone but it may be a great option for you.

What Is The iPhone SE 1st Generation?

The iPhone SE 1st Generation was released in 2016. SE stands for special edition and is targeted at people who want a smaller and affordable phone that is not fancy with none of the latest high end features. In 2023 the phone still holds up well as it’s fast, responsive and can even run the latest version of iOS meaning it’s a great phone all around.

The iPhone SE 1st Generation has a 4 inch display, 2GB RAM and 16GB, 32GB, 64GB or 128GB internal storage depending on which one you choose. The display is is clear and easy to see. It looks nice and has a home button unlike new iPhone models that no longer have a home button which I find quite annoying and is one of the reasons I haven’t tried a newer iPhone model.

The phone is a bit slower than newer iPhones but it is still quite fast and it can run almost every app on the iTunes store without any problems. Some apps make take a little longer to open than on newer iPhones but this is to be expected on older phones. But most of the time you won’t notice any delays.

Basic Tasks On The iPhone SE 1st Generation

The iPhone SE 1st Generation works fine for basic tasks like browsing the web, listening to music, watching videos, using social media and other basic tasks. It’s mainly with heavy tasks like gaming especially the latest iPhone games you will notice some slower opening or loading times.

The battery life is good and will last a few hours if you are doing things like calls, texts and web browsing but will go down a lot quicker if you are watching a lot of videos or playing games. The screen is quite bright and can be seen outdoors and in direct sunlight. The screen size is quite small in my opinion and should be bigger.

The phone has a 12 megapixel rear camera and a 1.2 megapixel front facing camera. The rear camera takes great photos but the front facing camera is not that good. Call quality is great and the speaker is quite decent even though it’s an old phone. All in all it’s a great phone is definitely worth considering as a backup phone or a cheap main smartphone.

Price Of The iPhone SE 1st Generation

The iPhone SE 1st Generation cost $399 to buy in 2016 when it was released. But now it is much cheaper due to it’s age and availability. The phone is no longer available in phone stores, electrical stores other common stores that sells phones. These stores only sell new iPhone models and you will have look elsewhere for old iPhones.

The iPhone SE 1st Generation can be bought online on websites like eBay, Amazon and Kogan for a low as $69 up to $130 depending on the seller and condition of the phone.

Is The iPhone SE 1st Generation For Me?

I recommend the iPhone SE 1st Generation to anyone who is looking for a cheap smartphone that is reliable. It’s a great choice for a backup phone or as main smartphone. I also recommend it to anyone who wants a good phone but doesn’t mind the small screen size or the lack of high end features.

I don’t recommend the iPhone SE to anyone who doesn’t want an older iPhone or wants a big screen size. I also don’t recommend it to anyone who wants a high end phone or a phone with the latest features.
